During the signup process, you will be
prompted to enter a physical location to
where you would like to have Emergency
Calling Services summoned to.

From the date of signup, it
generally takes about 7 to 10 business days
for your 911 Emergency Calling Services to
start working.

What is the difference between 911 calling
on a traditional phone line versus VoIP?
The difference between Talk Motion
Emergency Calling Services and traditional
911 service is that the Talk Motion Voice
over IP call will be routed to the general
access line of a Public Safety Answering
Point (PSAP), which is different from the
911 Emergency Response Center. You will need
to state the nature of your emergency
promptly and clearly when calling 911.

Why do I have to give
you my physical address?
One of the many luxuries of using a
Voice over IP phone service is the fact that
you can take your phone with you anywhere
you travel. Because of this reason it is
very important to keep the most up to date
physical address on file for 911 Emergency
Calling Services.

How do I dial
Emergency Calling Services using Talk
Motion?
Simply dial 911 from your phone and you
will be connected to Emergency Calling
Services.

Is it possible for Emergency Calling to be
unavailable?
Yes. Emergency Calling Services will
be unavailable if there is a power outage,
broadband service outage, if your account is
suspended or for other reasons.

Can I call Emergency Services when
traveling?
If you travel with your Talk Motion
adaptor for an extended period (such as a
vacation home), you should change your
Emergency Calling Service address by logging
in to your Talk Motion account. This will
ensure your call is routed to the
appropriate Public Safety Answering Point.
If you have not changed your address and
dial 911 it is very important to inform the
operator of your exact location.

How can I test 911 dialing?
Talk Motion has conducted
significant testing to ensure that our
Emergency Calling Services work correctly.
If you do choose to test 911 dialing, please
do only one time. When you call, be sure to
inform the Public Safety Answering Point
operator it is not an emergency and that you
are testing your alternative emergency
service to make sure it's working properly.
