What is Talk Motion?
Talk Motion is a local, long distance and
international phone service that uses high
speed Internet access (such as DSL or Cable)
combined with voice technology to provide
quality, reliable and cost effective calling
solutions. The technology that Talk Motion
utilizes is better known as VoIP, also known
as Voice over IP. Many features that
traditional phone companies offer at an
additional cost are free with Talk Motion.

What is VOIP?
VoIP stands for "Voice over IP" or
"Voice over Internet Protocol." VoIP is new
way of making and receiving phone calls over
a high speed (broadband) Internet
connection. VoIP is a far more cost
effective solution to the traditional phone
service. Furthermore VoIP providers have a
far larger scope of features that are
included absolutely free of charge.

How does it work?
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
technology provides a way to send an analog
signal (the sound of your voice) over a digital
medium, the Internet. In order to understand how
this process works, we can use a simple real
world example. Let's say that you have our
service and a traditional analog telephone. Your
telephone is connected to your high speed
Internet connection using the FREE Talk Motion
adapter that we send to you.
Call from you: When you pick up your phone and dial the
number, the Talk Motion adapter converts your
regular telephone into digital form. The
resulting digital phone number is sent by the
Talk Motion adapter to our network. The network
looks at the number to determine the location
the call is going to and routes the call to the
right location. The person receiving the call,
regardless of what type of service they use,
will establish a telephone connection and a
regular conversation will start.
Call placed to you: The person calling you, regardless of what
type of service they use, picks up there phone
and dials your telephone number. The call is
sent out to our network, which turns around and
routes the call to your Talk Motion adapter. The
Talk Motion adapter converts the digital signal
into analog form and rings your phone.
Voice Quality:
Because signals
are transmitted and received digitally through
the Internet, the quality of Voice over IP may
exceed what you're currently getting from a
traditional phone company.

How do I signup for Talk Motion?
You can signup for the Talk Motion phone
service by visiting our signup page. The
signup process takes about 5 minutes
complete, simply select your service package
and complete the payment for services.

How long will it take to receive my Talk
Motion telephone adapter?
It generally takes about 7 to 10
business days to receive your welcome
package.

What do I need to get service with Talk
Motion?
In order to use Talk Motion's Voice over
IP you will need the following:

A high-speed (broadband) Internet
connection such as: Cable or DSL

A credit card with a US billing and
shipping address.

A Talk Motion telephone adapter which is
provided free when you signup.

What connections will Talk Motion work
with?
Talk Motion is compatible with all
high-speed Internet services such as Cable
or DSL. Satellite Internet connections are
also compatible with the Talk Motion phone
service, however please keep in mind that
Satellite Internet connections are generally
slower than the regular high-speed
connections like Cable or DSL. Talk Motion
recommends that you use a high-speed
connection with a consistent upload/download
speed of at least 120 kbps.

Will Talk Motion work with a dial-up
connection?
No. Talk Motion utilizes high-speed or
broadband Internet connections only.

Can I use my current phone with Talk
Motion?
Yes. Talk Motion works with most phones
as long as they are connected to your Talk
Motion phone adapter.

Do I need a computer to use Talk Motion?
No. The Talk Motion phone adapter
connects directly to your high-speed
(broadband) modem.

Can I use my computer and talk on the
phone at the same time?
Yes. Talk Motion works independently of
your computer, this allows you to talk on
the phone while browsing the web.

How will the sound quality compare to a
traditional phone line?
Because signals are transmitted and
received digitally through the Internet, the
quality of Voice over IP may exceed what
you're currently getting from a traditional
phone company.

Is Talk Motion available in my area?
Talk Motion is available anywhere in the
United States, as long as you have a
high-speed Internet connection, you can use
our service.

Do I have to get a phone number in my
area code?
No. Because Talk Motion service is
provided via Voice over IP, you may select
to use any area code you wish.

Is Internet service included?
No. Talk Motion does not provide
Internet access.

Will Talk Motion save me money?
Yes. On average our users save up to 80%
off their current phone bills.

Can I keep my current phone number if I
signup for Talk Motion?
Yes. We can move your existing phone
number to our networks.

Do I have to move my current phone number
to Talk Motion?
No. Moving your phone number to Talk
Motion is optional.

Do I have to cancel my local phone
service to use Talk Motion?
No. Talk Motion routes calls through the
Internet, our service will have no impact on
your local phone service.

When calling other parties, do they also
need Talk Motion or another VoIP Service?
No. Talk Motion service will allow you
to place calls to anyone in world.

Can I use Talk Motion when I travel?
Yes. You can use Talk Motion anywhere
there is high-speed Internet connection.
Simply take your Talk Motion phone adapter,
connect it to a high-speed Internet
connection and you will be able to start
making and receiving phone calls.

What happens if I'm moving?
You can take your Talk Motion phone
service with you when when you move. You can
either keep your existing phone number or
have Talk Motion assign a new number.

Does Talk Motion have the same features
as my current phone service?
Although the technology that Talk Motion
utilizes is different from your traditional
phone service provider, you will be able to
enjoy the same features that you have used

Will my phone number be listed in the
phone book?
No. Talk Motion will never submit your
phone number into the phone book or
Directory Assistance.

Can I place calls to 800 numbers through
Talk Motion?
Yes. You may call any number anywhere in
the world with Talk Motion. The only numbers
we block access to are 900 numbers.
